Toys and Games
While in treatment, Grace received a lot of toys, games and arts and crafts. John even received gifts! Through many generous donors, Columbia receives a lot of toy donations for the winter holidays. Grace was in treatment for over 2 years and we found that the Child Life Specialists had very little supplies in the summer months. John came up with the idea of “Christmas in July” to help the hospital in the summer! That is how “Grace’s Annual Holiday in July” Toy Drive started.
Since 2018, we have collected hundreds of toys, games, crafts and art supplies for Columbia. Generally we deliver a large donation at the end of July to turn clinic into a giant “Toy Store”. Due to Covid, we haven’t been able to get back into the hospital. Now we “drop and go” large donations in July. The Child Life Specialists spread the joy throughout the hospital!
